Bund Leather Strap
The Bund Strap is one of those iconic straps initially developed during wartime and that has now found its way as a staple of field watch design. The "Bund" is a protective leather packing that served to separate the wrist from the watch.
This separation was necessary for WW2 bomber pilots that would fly extended periods of time in unpressurised and unheated cockpits. The Bund Leather Strap's design meant that no matter how intensely hot or cold conditions could get during service in the air, the wearer would suffer no consequence.
