There is something quietly poetic about the post-war dress watch. No longer needed for survival, watches became a symbol of elegance, order, and new beginnings. Men who once measured time between air raids now wore sleek, golden timepieces to weddings, job promotions, and dinners with family.
On September 2nd, Praesidus Watch Co. will release its first-ever dress watch to commemorate the 80th anniversary of V‑Day, marking a new chapter not just in our catalog, but in our purpose : honoring history by shaping what comes next.
“[The Victory Watch] is proof that refinement can come from the same hands that built battlefield tributes”
Rooted in centuries of horology, dress watches embody restraint, proportion, and artisanal precision. From clean dials, mirror-polished anglage, to heat-blued hands and micro-engraved chapter rings, every detail whispers of craft, not spectacle.
The Victory Watch embraces the tradition; the case is slim and the bezel lines are fine. The movement however is still loyal to the DNA of Praesidus Watch Co. by being military-oriented, but the rest of the components carry the silence of mastery: no excess, no compromise, just timeless clarity in form and function.
Our dial offerings draw on the quiet drama of vintage craft : from two-tone lacquered surfaces to satin‑brushed textures, etched with depth by EDM stamping.
From polished numerals rising like sculpture, to domed rings, though sword-cut hands sweep across a field of matte and sunburst, to thick, faceted indexes anchoring the composition; every variant serves elegance, balancing reflection with restraint.
Powered by the Miyota Cal. 9039, the Victory Watch beats at a smooth 28,800 vph with a slim 3.9 mm profile. This no-date, high-beat premium movement features hand-winding, hacking seconds, and 42 hours of power reserve. Its minimalist design and reliable precision make it an ideal heart for our dress watch: quiet, smooth, and easy to maintain.

Our team set out to create a mil-spec dress watch that brings together refined elegance and Praesidus field DNA. The challenge was to maintain the toughness and water resistance within a slimmer, more formal design. We aimed for a watch that could move seamlessly from a formal setting to the field. It’s about balancing function with sophistication. This project pushed us beyond pure utility and into new creative territory. The result is a dependable tool, dressed in a minimalist, timeless form.
“When I founded Praesidus Watch Co. in 2019, I had one simple goal : to build watches that honor American history and craftsmanship. It started when I met WWII veteran Tom Rice—his story inspired our first A-11 model and set us on a path to revive American watchmaking with purpose.
From day one, we’ve focused on doing things the hard way: sourcing the best affordable Swiss movements, bringing them home, then building rugged, military-inspired watches that tell real stories.
Today, Praesidus offers some of the most affordable USA-assembled watches on the market; quartz, automatic, and soon solar-powered.
Yes, there is still work ahead, but we are proud of what we have built so far. So, if you believe in history and supporting American manufacturing, a Praesidus watch is time well spent !”
