The Neptune 44 is a D-Day watch whose case was aged in the sea off Utah Beach, Normandy. Each case was submerged using methods borrowed from oyster farming, so no two come out the same. It is for collectors who want a watch marked by the place itself. Black or Patina dial, 38mm or 42mm, $550.

A case aged off Utah Beach

Each Neptune 44 case spent time in the water off Utah Beach, exposed to the same salt, sun and sand the Allies met on June 6, 1944. The marks and darkening come from exposure, not from a surface treatment. The dial has a black aged finish developed for this release, with subdued patina indexes. Because of the patina process, the color of the indexes can vary from the photos.

A percentage of each Neptune 44 sale goes to the Utah Beach Landing Museum in Normandy, which supported the project.

FAQ

How was the Neptune 44 case aged?

Each case was submerged off Utah Beach, Normandy, using methods taken from oyster farming. Salt, sun and sand marked and darkened the steel, so every case looks different. It is exposure, not a surface treatment.

Is every Neptune 44 different?

Yes. Each case comes out of the sea with its own marks, and the patina dial develops its own character over time. Index color can also vary slightly from the product photos because of the patina process.

Does the Neptune 44 support a museum?

Yes. A percentage of each Neptune 44 sale goes to the Utah Beach Landing Museum in Normandy, to thank the museum for its support of the project.
