This watch is built on the same rugged platform as the original Praesidus A-11 Tom Rice; a field-tested design inspired by the WWII spec worn by U.S. servicemen. But this edition carries something more.

Each dial is hand-painted by British artist Matt Anderson, based on Tom Rice’s personal account of his D-Day jump into Normandy. The scene captures the descent, the shoreline, and the chaos of June 6, 1944, a moment that shaped history and gave birth to Praesidus.

To achieve the right tone and durability, we tested multiple paint types, layering techniques, and protective finishes. The result is a dial that blends art and function, built to last and designed to honor.

The Tom Rice Hand-Painted Edition is available in both 38mm and 42mm stainless steel cases, each fitted with a double-domed sapphire crystal featuring anti-reflective coating. The dial is night-black with cream-filled indexes and luminous A-11 spec index with Superluminova hands for optimal legibility in low-light conditions. Inside, it’s powered by a reliable Miyota 9039 movement with a 40-hour power reserve. Each piece is water-resistant to 10 ATM and assembled in Arizona, USA. The watch comes with a green canvas strap (20mm or 22mm depending on case size), a numbered caseback engraved with Tom Rice’s insignia, and is housed in a collector’s box with a commemorative plaque and signed certificate.
