The Rec Spec OG Sunray is the closest homage we’ve created to the MACV-SOG watches of the 1960s, not by exaggerating their tactical nature, but by embracing their true origins. These watches were never designed as military tools; they were dress watches, repurposed out of necessity. The dark-gray sunray dial reflects that unexpected heritage, a finish that feels almost out of place on a field watch yet entirely authentic to the originals sourced in local Vietnamese markets. Fluorescent green Super-Luminous paint on the hands and indexes recreates the look of the radioactive Tritium used in 1967, preserving the unmistakable visual identity of these quietly legendary timepieces.
