DD-45 "Tropical"
Description
The DD-45 "Tropical" is the result of two years of development with our dial supplier. The deep brown dial coloration combined with the patina indexes & hands is meant to reference a rare kind of aging where the black dial paint used would morph into a dark brown as the watch was exposed to sun & humidity over the years. The result on the DD-45 of our "tropicalization" is a truly unique dial that looks like some rare Dirty Dozens today; 80 years after they were produced. It serves to highlight the true age of the originals and, the wear & tear that they have gone through while being used in the field by actual armed forces.
Designed as a homage to the original Dirty Dozen designed for the British War Office to equip the British Army with a standardized high-performance field watch, the DD-45 surpasses the originals spec wise bringing it to the XXIst century. Originally meant to be "Waterproof" we've modernized the initial design requirements. The DD-45 comes with 10ATM water resistance & a screw-down crown - helping to keep things safe in wet conditions. The double domed sapphire crystal provides best in-class scratch resistance further improving the longevity of your DD-45.
Since all twelve original manufacturers produced their own Dirty Dozen in Switzerland, we felt it made sense to follow the historical origins of these watches. We've therefore equipped our Dirty Dozen with the Landeron L24 Swiss-Made movement. Featuring 28,800 BHP & 25 Jewels - you'll be getting a smooth second hand movement & high-precision; ready for use in any condition.

CARE GUIDE
Thanks to our expertise & quality materials your watch will require very little day-to-day care. You can help preserve its lustre by washing the case and bracelet from time to time using soapy water and a soft brush. Before cleaning your watch, always ensure that the winding crown is properly pushed down to guarantee waterproofness.
The Project
As a young Field Watch Brand, we’ve always wanted to re-interpret the infamous “Dirty Dozen” series. A series of 12 watches commissioned by the British War Office for their soldiers during WW2. These are widely considered the first true field watches ever commissioned by the British War Office. 12 iconic Swiss watchmakers took part; giving the nickname “Dirty Dozen”.
When we started our Dirty Dozen program, we didn’t want to bring the Dirty Dozen aesthetics to the XXIst century. Partly because it already had been done by other brands previously, but, also because we felt it didn’t really fit with our ethos. So, instead of “modernizing” the Dirty Dozen design we tried to do the exact opposite & “vintagize” our homage. The result is a series of 3 dials: a “factory finish” dial, a fully tropicalized dial & a heavily aged dial with true patina luminous.
The DD-45
The dial on the DD-45 took two years of development as we aimed at re-creating a “true” patina on both the indexes & hands. Each dial is unique in its patina & truly feels like it is an 80 year-old dial. You can choose how much “aging” you want; from “factory finish” non-patina all the way to a fully tropical brown dial.
The DD-45
Our Dirty Dozen was designed with the orignal 1940s W.W.W (Watch Wrist Waterproof) requirements in mind. Although we won’t call our Dirty Dozen waterproof, we definitely made sure it’s water resistant in most conditions. Featuring 10 ATM (100m/330ft) water-resistance & a screw down crown, your Dirty Dozen is ready for anything.
