38mm is the size most of our field watches share. It reads clearly, slides under a cuff and stays close to the proportions of the WWII originals. Why 38mm

Watches issued in the 1940s were smaller than most modern watches; the A-11 Type 44 still offers its original 32mm size. 38mm keeps that restrained look while giving a larger dial and stronger lume. Lug-to-lug length matters as much as diameter: each product page lists the exact case dimensions and lug width, so you can pick a matching strap from our watch straps.

Is 38mm too small for a man's wrist?

No. 38mm was a common men's size for decades and is close to many vintage field watches. Lug-to-lug length matters more: most of our 38mm models stay compact, and each product page lists the exact case dimensions.
