Do you know ?

The Clicker is an instrument that served as a recognition system for the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division sent on the night of June 5to 6, 1944 on Sainte-Mère-Église during Operation Albany.

It was in 1943 after the parachute drop into Sicily that Commander Taylor, who led the US 101st Airborne Division, understood the importance of communication once forces had infiltrated enemy territory. Isolated and scattered, the paratroopers found it difficult to find and regroup without risking easy targets for Axis forces.

The U.S. troops hijacked a toy that was very popular at the time and the soldiers were given it a few days before the landing. A parallelepiped-shaped chrome-plated brass blade that emits a snap when pressed.

Thanks to our expertise & quality materials your watch will require very little day-to-day care. You can help preserve its lustre by washing the case and bracelet from time to time using soapy water and a soft brush. Before cleaning your watch, always ensure that the winding crown is properly pushed down to guarantee waterproofness.

101st Airborne Division

Platoon Sergeant Tom Rice

As Tom jumps from his C-47 for D-Day, his static-line doesn't detach from his chute. He is immediately slammed against the fuselage. While struggling to free himself, he loses his watch. Tom goes on to detach himself and parachute back down to fight the war until the end of the war in Europe (1945).
