Do you know ?

The Clicker is an instrument that served as a recognition system for the paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division sent on the night of June 5to 6, 1944 on Sainte-Mère-Église during Operation Albany.

It was in 1943 after the parachute drop into Sicily that Commander Taylor, who led the US 101st Airborne Division, understood the importance of communication once forces had infiltrated enemy territory. Isolated and scattered, the paratroopers found it difficult to find and regroup without risking easy targets for Axis forces.

The U.S. troops hijacked a toy that was very popular at the time and the soldiers were given it a few days before the landing. A parallelepiped-shaped chrome-plated brass blade that emits a snap when pressed.

Keeping your watch stored for a long time or not using it regularly may cause it to stop running. This does not mean it’s a malfunctioning timepiece. It only means there is not enough energy stored in the watch’s mainspring.

Generally, your watch has a power reserve that can last for up to 41 hours when not used. After this, you need to wind the watch manually or just wear it right away.

To manually wind your A-11:

Make sure the crown is pushed down. Then, rotate it following the clockwise direction for approximately 30 to 40 times to fully wind the spring. Less winding is necessary if you start wearing it straight away, as the automatic winding will take over
